BLS LGBTQ+ ELDER INITIATIVE PINELLAS

Advocating for inclusive futures for LGBTQ+ elders

Is your organization ready and well-equipped to offer support and services to LGBTQ+ Seniors?

HOW THE LGBTQ+ ELDER INITIATIVE CAN BENEFIT YOUR organization

    • Evaluate non-discrimination, marketing, and admission policies
    • Examine forms and procedures to ensure inclusive language, promoting accessibility for LGBTQ+ older adults
    • Conduct training sessions for businesses and organizations on understanding the needs, challenges, and best practices in serving LGBTQ+ older adults
    • Introduce LGBTQ+ cultural events, including Pride, Transgender Day of Visibility, and National Coming Out Day
    • Collaborate with business leadership to foster inclusive employee policies for LGBTQ+ staff
    • Provide additional technical assistance as needed

ELEVATE YOUR TEAMS CULTURAL COMPETENCY

Cultural competency training is crucial for fostering an inclusive workplace, enhancing communication, and building stronger connections with diverse communities. Unfortunately, it is often overlooked in business models, leading to missed opportunities for growth and understanding. Embracing cultural competency ensures that organizations are well-equipped to navigate a globalized world and effectively engage with a diverse clientele and workforce.

The LGBTQ Elder Initiative can help get this training initiated and connect you with further resources to further your organization's training and understanding.

Having a culturally competent training model for your business and associates bring forth new opportunities while opening the door for LGBTQ Elders to feel safe and welcomed.
